2013Roar by American singer Katy Perry started a two week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart.  The single was released from her fourth studio album, Prism. Perry performed the song under the Brooklyn Bridge at the closing ceremony of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

1950’s

1959Craig Douglas’s Only Sixteen began a 4-week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Sam Cooke.

1953Look At That Girl by Guy Mitchell became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 6-weeks. The song was written by Bob Merrill and produced by Mitch Miller.
