2017 – Rockstar by Post Malone featuring 21 Savage became the UK Number One Single, where it remained for 4 weeks. The song knocked Sam Smith’s Too Good at Goodbyes off the top spot.
2013 – Counting Stars by OneRepublic became the UK Number One Single for the first of two occasions, spending just one week at the top each time.
2012 – The American blues/rock singer Nick Curran died of Cancer age 35. The singer, likened to The Sonics and T-Bone Walker, had beaten cancer once, but lost his battle in 2012.
1970’s
1978 – ABBA musicians Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were married, both marrying for the second time.
1950’s
1959 – Jerry Keller’s Here Comes Summer began a one-week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart. The song It was Keller’s only hit either side of the Atlantic.
