The Charles Mingus album Tijuana Moods was recorded in 1957, but not released until 1962. The LP was inspired by a trip to Tijuana, and is cited among Mingus’s finest work. Other players include Clarence Shaw on trumpet and Jimmy Knepper on trombone. Masterful work. |

The latest album by The Black Keys Let’s Rock is worth a listen. I agree with the Guardian review who said “an album that’s solid rather than spectacular.” Includes the singles Lo/Hi, Eagle Birds, and Go. I do have a big soft spot for this duo! |

The Amy Winehouse album Back To Black was her 2nd and final release. The LP which includes the singles Rehab, Back to Black and Love Is a Losing Game, won a Grammy. The brassy vocals of Winehouse, and the master production by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi created one heck of an album! |
