On this Day in Music – 27th February

The American rhythm and blues singer Frankie Lymon died on this day 1968.  Best known as the lead singer of the The Teenagers.  Lymon was found dead on the floor of his grandmother’s bathroom from a heroin overdose.  He was aged just 25.

The 2002 former J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf album Sleepless is a modern country-blues classic. Includes guest appearances from Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. I must admit I’d never heard of Wolf until I came across his name in a ‘greatest album’ list. Very enjoyable!
