1995 – The Simply Red single Fairground became the UK Number One Single where it stayed for 4-weeks. The song used a sample of The Goodmen’s Give It Up.
1960’s
1968 – Those Were The Days by Mary Hopkin began a 6 week spell at the top of the UK Singles Chart. The song was produced by Paul McCartney, and was based around a traditional Russian song Dorogoi dlinnoyu.
