On this Day in Music – 21st November

1960’s

On this day 1960 George Harrison was deported from Germany for performing with The Beatles in Hamburg under the age of 18.  Apparently, the night before his deportation Harrison spent the night teaching John Lennon his guitar parts so the band could continue with their shows.

The American blues guitarist B.B. King recorded his legendary live album Live at the Regal at (no surprise) the Regal Theater in Chicago on this day 1964. The album is a mainstay of ‘greatest album of all time’ lists.

The singer Björk Guðmundsdóttir was born in the Icelandic capital Reykjavík on this day 1965.
