1940’s

The American soul music singer Wilson Pickett was born on this day 1941 in Prattville, Alabama. The “Wicked” Pickett is best known for his hits In the Midnight Hour, Land of 1,000 Dances, and Mustang Sally.

1970’s

The second Califonia Jam II festival attracts around 300,000 people to the Ontario Motor Speedway on this day 1978. Artists including Aerosmith, Foreigner, Heart, Jean-Michel Jarre, Santana and Ted Nugent played at the event.
