No.1637 17/03/2021 – The 1985 Mr. Mister album Welcome to the Real World was the first CD I ever bought! Don’t judge…I remember buying at Woolworths, got home, and they forgot to put the disc in! Includes the singles Broken Wings and Kyrie. I was the first at school to have a CD player.

The Sunny and The Sunliners album Smile Now Cry Later was a first time listen for me. The bandleader Sunny Ozuna has been making music since the 50’s. The LP first released in 1966 is a soul and Texas music classic. Fine covers of Sam and Dave and Marvin Gaye. Love it!

The Elbow LP The Seldom Seen Kid is 10 years old today! The album won the illustrious Mercury Music Prize, and includes the popular tracks One Day Like This and Grounds for Divorce. Elbow’s debut will always be my highlight, but this LP clearly resonated with the wider audience.
