On this Day in Music – 16th April

1930’s

The British pop singer Dusty Springfield was born (Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O’Brien) on this day 1939 in West Hampstead, London. Springfield is best known for the hit singles I Only Want to Be with You, I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me and Son of a Preacher Man. The 1969 album Dusty in Memphis is also thought of as a classic LP.
