1930’s

The American jazz musician Herb Alpert was born in the Boyle Heights section of Eastside Los Angeles on this day 1935.  Alpert is best known for his work with Tijuana Brass.

1950’s

Angus Young of AC/DC was born in Glasgow, Scotland on this day 1955. The lead guitarist and songwriter is the sole constant original member of the band.  Young is also known for his version of the Chuck Berry duckwalk and his schoolboy-uniform stage outfits.
