The American singer-songwriter and guitarist Richie Havens died of a heart attack, aged 72 on this day 2013 at his home in Jersey City, New Jersey.

On The Beach is the ultimate compendium by The Paragons. The band were formed in Kingston, Jamaica and made soulful, roots and rocksteady pop songs. With John Holt in the band, and with tracks such as The Tide Is High (covered by Blondie) made this a worthwhile listen. |

The recent Moby album Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt is a melancholic masterpiece. I remember listening to Play on loop on a beach in Cambodia all those years ago. Now with the new LP it might be time to book another flight! Anyone listened to it? |
