I wasn’t familiar with Trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire until hearing him on NPR’s New Release Friday. I was blown away by the snippet they played and immediately listened to the whole album, Origami Harvest. Like Kamasi Washington, Akinmusire creates compelling and adventurous journeys in jazz.
