Previous Albums Of The Day
![]() The eponymous debut album by the Norwegian band Kvelertak celebrates a 10th anniversary today! Norwegian punk and black metal is definitely a niche genre…not normally my taste, but this LP is powerful, chord driven, relentless and strangely enjoyable. |
![]() The 3rd Chemical Brothers album Surrender was released 20 years ago today! Perhaps more of a house record than dance, but either way helped the duo continue their rise to stardom. Singles included Hey Boy Hey Girl, Let Forever Be, and Out of Control. |
![]() The 1968 John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers LP Bare Wires is 50 years old today! The LP recorded at Decca Studios, West Hampstead in London, saw Peter Green replaced on guitar by Mick Taylor. No Reply and She’s Too Young were released as singles. Classic British blues, but ultimately ended The Bluesbreakers. |
![]() The Basement Tapes 1975 release by Bob Dylan & The Band. Previously bootlegs, the songs were recorded around Woodstock, NY after Dylan’s motorcycle crash. |
