On this Day in Music – 29th September

1930’s

1935 – “The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis was born in Ferriday in eastern Louisiana. The American pianist is often described as the first wild man of rock n’ roll, and with the success of Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On and Great Balls of Fire he was considered a pioneer of  rock and roll and rockabilly.
