The 2015 album Let The Good Times Roll by the Oklahoma rock and blues singer JD McPherson revives 50’s rock and roll, doo-wop and sounds of yesteryear. McPherson’s voice has been compared to Sam Cooke at times, a testament to quality of JD.

The 3rd Green Day album, Dookie, is 25 years old today! The album helped propel the East Bay pop-punk bad into the mainstream, and has been hailed one of the landmark albums of the 1990s. Included the hit singles When I Come Around and Basket Case. Always a fun listen.

The prolific Neil Young keeps on truckin’ releasing his 39th album, The Visitor last month. Recorded as a collaboration with Promise of the Real (their 3rd together), The Visitor is political and angry, and worth a listen.

The Godfather of Grime Richard Kylea Cowie, aka Wiley released his 11th studio album recently, aptly named Godfather. The stand-out tracks are Back With a Banger, Joe Bloggs, On This and the single Can’t Go Wrong. Wiley announced this would be his final album, but he’s said that before!
